Another trip at the very earliest stage of planning is to the famous SOPTOM Tortoise Village in the South of France, home of over 5,000 native Hermann’s and North African Spur Thighed Tortoises, amongst may other tortoise species, - reputedly the largest and most extensive collection of tortoises in Europe, if not the world! Combined with this visit is a trip to “La Ferme aux Crocodiles”, Frances extraordinary Crocodile Farm which boasts over 350 Nile Crocodiles along with breeding Aldabran Tortoise and much more! At both attractions the visits will include exclusive “behind the scenes” access.

As with the Hamm visit, the trip plans to include all travel, accommodation and admissions. The Tortoise Village Trip is provisionally planned for June 2005, will last for 5 nights, with a detailed itinerary being decided in response to expressions of interest which need to be made by 31st January 2005. Provisional costs for the 5 night trip are expected to be around £400.
